FASY_09 is paired with an oscillating tri-tonal frequency. The continuous cycle of movement paired with the continuous oscillation of sound create a portal to a mediative state.

Two days after the murder of George Floyd, I posted an Instagram story asking the Austin community if anyone knew of a wall upon which I could paint a mural in response to the news. Within 5 minutes “Native Hostel”, located in East Austin, replied with an emphatic “YES”. Within two days of the green light, I began composing and painting “If He Cant Breathe, We Cant Breathe”. I already knew that I wanted to do more than simply depict George with angel wings, a halo, and “R.I.P.” because this was a powerful moment, a pregnant pause spring loaded with an opportunity to not, pay homage to victims of Police brutality, but more importantly, bring as many different people together as possible to step forth into OUR truth and ultimately heal.

If He Can't Breathe, We Can't Breathe

I love it when the abstract textures I apply to the inside of 3D spheres resemble  landscapes. This one looks like a coastal tide pool to me. Close inspection reveals blocky voxel-like shapes which confirms the scene's digital origin. Creating it in the 32 bit color space allowed for more shimmering gradients reminiscent of mother-of-pearl sea shells.

Deep Sleep

I lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for fifteen years. This piece is like the mental map I had in my head of my neighborhood. My apartment is in the largest center building, and all the places I went to are in the periphery. I created this scene inside of a 3D sphere by creating hundreds of copies of a box with windows and placing them on the vertices of the sphere which was then made invisible. I added lights inside to create shadows and shapes, and captured the scene with a spherical camera which created a flattened complete image of the sphere's inside surface.

From The Roots

In this series I use images of my body, bones and pieces I no longer have, or what has been put in its place.

As a young child, one form of treatment for my JRA was to inject gold into my body weekly (this had to be injected in my hip area .. I did not have JRA in my hips) the drug worked and then it didn’t. Doctors would always stop my treatment when I was showing signs of remission, but I would flare up soon after and each time worse than before …and we would have to start treatment all over again… this went on for many years even into high school.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with a gold mixture. I like to think that is what they were trying to do for me.

I no longer have my hips. Remembering how much pain they caused me, how much grief & sadness, falling down unexpectedly in the middle of an intersection, or getting stuck on the subway stairs in rush hour..is something that is 

Keep Going

From Rakkaus' Connection series. 
This piece uses an x-ray of one of her hips that caused much pain and grief for a very long time.  Growing up with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis this was an area that was injected with medication every week for years, it eventually deteriorated from so much wear and tear. This is a part of her body that no longer exists, just here now on the blockchain. Choosing to focus on the good and gratitude and always seeing things in a different way, Rakkaus decided to find the beauty beyond the pain and make art.

In Stillness

The idea behind this piece is color and movement. I have been painting abstract on canvas for the last 12 years. With a background in Graffiti Art, it was a natural transition to paint abstract on canvas.  My good friend Rusty Willard (RIP) made the frame. This is the last piece I have left from our collaborations.

The Cadillac of aerosol caps, this NY Fat capped off my "Tools of the Trade" series depicting vintage and contemporary spray paint cans in mosaic glass pixel art. Cementing into the millennia-old historic mosaic art lineage, this artwork is important to those in graffiti and street art culture, as well as the worldwide mural movement.

Made of 12,100 individually hand-placed vitreous glass tiles, the original artwork weighs in over 50 lbs. with the dimensions of 125cm x 125cm x 7cm, framed in ebony-stained poplar. 2021.

The New Yorker

“Cryptographic Power” is a manifestation of my own personal need to express new forms of interactive storytelling. Hidden messages are embedded within her, only viewable in augmented reality. As a NATIVE Austinite, I’ve placed this figure glyph at a special location in Austin, Texas. Using the “wallet to world” technology on the site the.illust.space, a unique GPS location is assigned to this NFT. You can visit her in front of a mural by Chris Rogers. Can you find the mural and the hidden message inside her?

This is one of the first mixed reality NFTs built into a play to earn blockchain game based in Austin. Each NFT acts as a time capsule preserving what otherwise would be lost to future generations. Players can claim POP (proof of presence) tokens as they complete challenges within the game.

New Horizons

Part of the first SearchLight Atelier & Gallery in Cryptovoxels 2022. Vessel is an original work of art exploring the figure by incorporating typography, text, and visual poetry – integrated into representations of the body. Vessel compares the relationship we have with ourselves and our body. Living with an autoimmune disease and chronic pain my whole life others have often put boundaries on what i can do, and I listened, the more I listened the further I floated from myself. The more I sat with my inner being and connected to my body, the more present and limitless I have felt and the less I have allowed a condition to define me.
